Hi, I'm Kendra

I’ve been married to a neurosurgeon since 2003. I’ve lived every season of medicine, from residency with four young children to attending life and I know firsthand that external stability doesn’t automatically create internal peace. I spent years waiting to feel better. When that didn’t happen on its own, I started untangling who I had become inside survival mode. Now, as a Professional Certified Coach, I help physician spouses do the same.

Made For This

I went back to my old blog and found this entry from July 2011.

“I realize that my personality is suited for the life of a resident’s wife. I am a rock. A source of consistency and regularity. I keep our family running on schedule, bills paid, and food on the table. I am no-nonsense, practical and efficient.

“I like being in charge and running the show. I enjoy solitude and evenings alone. This lifestyle is perfectly suited for me. It makes the best use of my strengths while giving me time to work on those weaknesses that only I can see.

“My husband thinks I am perfect – it’s a good thing he doesn’t work from home.”

This all makes me laugh.

How long have I been working on my weaknesses? It seems like forever.

Consider the difference between believing there is nothing you can’t handle and and the belief that something in your life has gone incredibly wrong and you don’t know know to do this.

What is the truth?

What you believe is what you will find evidence for. Always. It’s already happening that way right now, you just might not see it.

What do you want to believe about your life and what is happening right now?

I DO believe that I was made for this. I believed it then, and I believe it now.

This life.

My life.

To be here at this moment in time.

To be the mother to these children.

To be married to this man.

I have everything I need.

I was made for this.

And so were you.

Believe it and then see it.
